Selected for Society of Wildlife Artists 'The Natural Eye 2020' exhibition at the Mall Galeries, London.
‘Wing’, along with 'Dart, zip, dance', was inspired by dragonflies seen at a visit to Decoy Heath, a nature reserve near Aldermaston in Berkshire. It is one of the best sites for dragonflies and damselflies in Berkshire and around 23 different species have been known to breed around its shallow pools. We were greeted by several male Black-tailed Skimmers defending their territories and stunning Beautiful Demoiselles all with shimmering wings as they darted around us.

The picture is finished with a protective wax finish which gives it a gorgeous subtle sheen. The sides of the panel are painted off white.
