One of four small studies inspired by the different shapes, textures and colours of the landscape.  Texture in the picture is achieved by adding and subtracting numerous different layers of paint and using glazing and hand painted collage to provide complexity and interest.
 
During the painting of ths I used bright colours in the first layers.  The pimk kept showing through in places and I decided to keep the thin line under the tree silhouette as a 'nod' to glorious sunset colours.
