Beach huts is a celebration of a British seaside tradition. Many of the popular resorts around the coast have beach huts that reflect the often eccentric tastes of their owners. They have had a renaissance in recent years and in prime sites can sell for the price of a bricks and mortar house.
When painting Beach huts, I had in mind seaside holidays as a child, when the summers seemed to last for ever.
Painted on board in a hand finished white wooden frame, ready to hlang.
Acrylic, finished with cold wax on wooden panel 40 X 40 cm (15.75 X 15.75 inches)
Frame is 42.5 X 42.5 X 2.5 cm (16.75 X 16.75 X 1 inches)
The picture is finished with a protective wax finish which gives it a gorgeous subtle sheen. The sides of the panel are painted off white.
