A good year for the roses

A good year for the roses

"A Good Year for the Roses" was sung by Elvis Costello in 1981, but would be very appropriate for this year.  Inspired by the profusion of pink roses in my garden and seen on walks around the countriside, this picture tries to capture that late spring feel of abundance and joy as the roses burst into bloom.  It is painted in lots of layers which provides depth and texture in a loose and fluid style.

    Acrylic and cold wax on cotton canvas 16 X 20 x 1 inches (40.8 X 50.8 x2 cm)

The picture is finished with a protective wax finish which gives it a gorgeous subtle sheen. The sides of the panel are painted white.

Picture is supplied unframed but I am happy to arrange for it to be framed for you - please do contact me.

I offer a full refund if the picture (and frame if purchased) are returned undamaged in their original packing within 28 days. Return postage is at the buyer’s expense.

Cost of shipping will depend on where in the world you want it shipped and whether or not you want it framed. I wrap the pictures securely with bubble wrap in a cardboard box. I re-use packing material where possible to keep down costs and reduce landfill.

    Please contact me for costs.

You can also collect the picture from me direct.
