A good year for the roses

A good year for the roses

£250.00Price

"A Good Year for the Roses" was sung by Elvis Costello in 1981, but would be very appropriate for this year.  Inspired by the profusion of pink roses in my garden and seen on walks around the countriside, this picture tries to capture that late spring feel of abundance and joy as the roses burst into bloom.  It is painted in lots of layers which provides depth and texture in a loose and fluid style.
